USMA: West Point

I'm a freshman (plebe), at the United States Military Academy. Things are kind of tough here. Inspections, a bit of hazing, little sleep, and worst of all..no chances to really go home and spend time with the family. Other than that though, things aren't bad at all. The campus is beautiful, the students here are very respectable people, and there is something here for everyone. As you can see, a lot of time is spent on things other than academics..the room you see is mine, which has to be ready for inspection every morning and afternoon. There purpose of this institution is to build leaders, and so athletics, drill, and military training are all combined with academics to ensure every cadet can be 'developed'. I really wouldn't go back and do everything over again, but i'm proud that i've made it this far here.
